Announcements and Upcoming Events

As we close out 2019, we want to thank you for your continued support of the LA Running Club.  Together we have accomplished alot this past year.  We collected about 100 pair of shoes for Back on My Feet; helped feed the homeless in downtown LA in conjunction with Operation BBQ Relief; collected over $2,800 in gifts and gift cards for families through the Salvation Army Adopt-A-Family program; and we've given away many race entries, swag, running shoes and generally cool stuff to our members and friends.  Our coaching staff has grown, as has our board of directors.  We've started training with LARR for the LA Marathon and are proud to host LA Road Runners each week.

Additonally, we've seen many athletes accomplish their goals, whether it be running/walking their first 5k, qualifying for Boston, or running a sub-3 hour marathon.  We've welcomed special speakers like Matt Futterman, Coach Bob Larsen, Christopher McDougall, Jay Collins, and so many others.

Many people have told us that they feel such a sense of community and have made lasting friendships through their weekly runs/walks at the totem pole or at track.

As we enter 2020, the LA Running Club has more exciting changes and events planned.  Our new website will soon rollout which will serve you, our members, by keeping you more engaged with what's happening with the Club, and give you access to exclusive discounts and training plans for members only.  We will continue to host fitness and health-related speakers, race directors, and vendors.

We also want to hear from you so that we can provide the services and events you need to achieve your goals.  Feel free to send your thoughts and suggestions by email to

Thank you, once again, to each of you for being part of LARC.

I want to give a special thanks to our board of directors and coaches who give tirelessly with dedication and passion: Cathie Enriquez, David Levine, Francisco Davis, Sarah Furlong, Barry Morrill, Miguel Magana, John Terrell, Greta Ito, Avi Kushlan, Michael Sorich, Alan Culver, Jasmine Moezzi and Rose McKay.

Together we wish you and your families a healthy, prosperous and peaceful 2020, and look forward to seeing you soon!

Marianne Ricci, President

LARR/LARC Affiliation
The LA Road Runners training season for the LA Marathon kicked off at the totem pole on Saturday, September 14th!

Because the LA Running Club is now an affiliate club in partnership with Conqur Endurance Group for the 2019-2020 training season, as a current member of the LA Running Club, you can train with LARR through LARC and receive Corral E on marathon day and enjoy the benefits of training with LARR pace leaders.

Conqur seeks to strengthen the greater Los Angeles running community by partnering with clubs around the LA area, providing new training tools and activation opportunities focused around Conqur events.

In addition to six large scale meet-up training runs, affiliate clubs will host live and virtual championship events utilizing the Zwift platform.  Two meet-up training runs will be held at Dodger Stadium.

LARC will also have a cheer tent on marathon day along the marathon course.

If you are interested and haven’t yet signed up or renewed your membership in The LA Running Club, you may do so in person at the totem pole or on track night, or by clicking this link: Join LARC

In addition, LARC will get entries into the LA Marathon that we will raffle off over the next couple of months to members only.  You must be present to win.

We will continue to provide tent support and gels, Gatorade, water and snacks to our athletes.  We will keep out a donations jar and will appreciate your generosity.

We are excited for this opportunity but want to make sure everyone understands that the following are NOT included in the LARC/LARR affiliation:

1. Exclusive LARR discounts
2. Zwift Foot Pod
3. LARR training shirt
4. Access to the locker room at the Pasadena Half Marathon
5. Access to the Loge Level at Dodger Stadium on Marathon day
6. Corral B

Those benefits are available only by registering with the LA Road Runners

We're currently training every Saturday for the LA Marathon to be held on March 8, 2020.  We would love for you to come train with us whether you run, walk or run/walk. And you can register for the LA Marathon here: LA Marathon Registration

Thank you for supporting the LA Running Club as we continue to grow and expand opportunities for our members and the running community.

As always, we welcome your ideas, suggestions or questions.  Please feel free to email us at

Saturday mornings and Wednesday nights

You can find us every Saturday morning at 7 AM at the totem pole in Santa Monica located near the intersection of Ocean Ave. and San Vicente Blvd. There is free parking on Georgina Ave. or Marguerita Ave. (1 or 2 blocks south of San Vicente). Whether you run, run/walk or walk, we have a group for you.

In addition, every Wednesday night at 6:30 pm we have coached track workouts  at Santa Monica High School. The track program includes four levels: interval, repetition, track light, and walking. If you are unsure of which group to join, please speak to one of our coaches when you arrive. SAMOHI is located at Pico Blvd. and 4th St.  Please park in the residential neighborhoods around the school.

Refer a friend to join LARC who has never joined before and you receive a free pair of socks, a muscle massage stick or shirt (from a previous year) while supplies last!
